A huge THANK YOU from the employees at JC Penney at Cascade Mall!

Reverie BBQ catered our year-end holiday employee event for 80-100 people.

Everyone we encountered at Reverie was helpful and professional, and they worked with us to choose the perfect menu combinations to fit our needs and our budget.  All aspects of our experience from ordering to delivery went great, and best of all the FOOD WAS FABULOUS, and the portions were generous!

We highly recommend Reverie BBQ - their new location in the mall food court is awesome as well, and has become a popular lunch and takeout spot for our team as well.

Most restaurateurs open their businesses to fulfill a passion for food and to make a profit. But Reverie BBQ owners Matt and Cheryl Kaufman had a different mission: to feed the working poor. Serving lunch on weekdays provides the couple with enough money to serve free dinners the last five days of each month, when money is usually tightest for the working poor. The couple — who initially sold Texas-style barbecue at a county fair — made sacrifices to start the restaurant, including selling a Harley Davidson and taking out a loan against their home. During the restaurant’s first year in business in 2006, the Kaufmans served more than 8,000 meals to needy families; this year, they have served nearly 1,000 each month.

BBQ to die for

I've eaten their BBQ at the Skagit & Island Co Builders Assoc. show for the last couple of years. I wish I made it to Mt. Vernon more often, this is the best BBQ I've ever tasted. I've never been in their restaurant, but I probably wouldn't notice the surroundings anyway, the food is that good.

I just had my first of what will be many meals at a new restaurant in Mount Vernon. It is called Reverie BBQ and I thouroughly enjoyed it! For only $6.99 (+tax) I had a "Pulled Pork Sandwich Meal" that came with 2 sides. I had the Shrimp Gumbo and Cornbread for my Side Items, but they had Homemade Potato Salad - German Style, "Hot" Slaw, Smoky Beans, Cornbread, Cup of Soup, and Green Salad to choose from.

They also have BBQ Ribs.... Think I'll have to try those next time!!

Here is their contact info...
